Packing for A Staycation

PACKING FOR A STAYCATION

UK staycations can mean unpredictable weather, so a versatile wardrobe is essential.  Whilst you might not be stepping on a plane, you are still going on holiday, so remember to have fun with your style.  And what better excuse to leave the sweatpants at home and splurge on some pretty new pieces for your suitcase!
Layers are essential, even our warmest summer nights can turn chilly.  Pack wide scarves, like our two tone scarf, which can double up as picnic blankets and of course waterproofs (the more you take the less likely it is to rain.). A slogan sweatshirt, like our Bonjour Sweatshirt, is this summer's must-have, perfect layered over a midi dress or with jeans for days spent exploring.

“I find packing for trips so much easier if I stick to two or three colours.  My favourite combination is orange and navy and sticking to these colours means accessories match and you can minimalise what you take."  (Travelling by car might mean you’re no longer a slave to baggage restrictions – but there’s still only so much room in the boot!)

Whether it’s a city break or a trip to the coast, pack an elegant dress, like our Beatrice Wrap Dress,  in a mood-boosting print for those well deserved pub suppers. You might be in St Ives instead of St Tropez but don't ditch the style stakes.
Keys, purse, phone - a neat cross body bag, like our Tassel Bag, has room for them all.  They work day and night and as they distribute the weight on both sides of the body are much better for your back.  Plus it keeps your hands free for eating ice cream or carrying shopping!

Holidays are a time when we can leave our worries at home and escape. With relative anonymity, step out of your comfort zone and try fashion styles you might not be bold enough to wear in your home town.  If there is one thing Covid has taught us all, life is for living!
